In 2003, Rolling Stone magazine released a special issue; Rolling Stone's 500 Greatest Albums of All Time. The albums were voted for by musicians, critics, and industry figures.
As I have said elsewhere, I'm not a fan of ranking, but I do like lists. There are some great albums on the list, and they are a good place to start if you're not familiar with some of the landmark recordings in the Classic Rock canon.
